Use a knowledge base with an agent

This tutorial attaches source material to an agent and verifies source-backed answers.

#1. Create knowledge

  1. Go to Knowledge.
  2. Create a knowledge base.
  3. Add a file, URL, or manual Q&A.
  4. Wait for processing to finish.

#2. Attach it to the agent

  1. Open the agent.
  2. Go to Knowledge Base.
  3. Select the knowledge base under Knowledge Association.
  4. Choose Always Search for strict source-backed answers.
  5. Save changes.

#3. Test in Playground

Ask:

  • A question answered directly by the source.
  • A question that uses different wording from the source.
  • A question not covered by the source.

The agent should answer the first two and gracefully handle the third.

#4. Improve weak answers

If answers are weak:

  • Add clearer headings.
  • Split large documents.
  • Remove outdated duplicates.
  • Add direct Q&A for frequent questions.
  • Re-test after processing completes.
